Rust removal on control arms

Hello,
The lower control arms on my SC are full covered in rust. The ball joints are good and I'm putting new bushings in. I'd like to clean them up and put an anti-rust coating on them.
I have access to a bench grinder but it will take forever.
Is there a dip or spray I can soak them in to get the rust off? **Edit I see there's Rust-o-leum, anyone have any success with it?

mine were really rusted, what i did was i bought a wire wheel from lowes for 4 bucks that adapts to a standard battery powerred or electrical powered drill and i wheeled the heck out of them. then i used some bbq grill paint that resists up to 1000 degrees fahrenheit. i tried to chip that stuff off and its on there pretty damn good and it looks so awesome.
here is a thread that shows what i did. good luck man
