Default erratic power window

My 2000 RX300 has occasional problem with passenger window. It lowers fine, from either driver or passenger panel. Often it refuses to raise, unless I lower the window completely, after which I am usually able to then raise it back up.
Sometimes it is more stubborn, and I have to turn off the ignition, and then restart motor and it will then raise properly. (difficult to do while driving)
Anyone with any clue what might be causing this problem? How to fix?
I already tried disconnecting battery to reset, but problem keeps recurring.

Probably a bad window master switch, but don't quote me on this one, just an online diag.
Welcome to CL, BTW.

Window Master Switch? Do you mean the driver side door panel switch, or is it something else? Remember that I'm getting the same problem from the passenger side switch as well. Would it make sense that one bad switch would cause the same effect in the other one?
-----and thanks for the welcome!

Yes, the switch is link to each other in one circuit. The easies way is to disconnect the master switch( left front door) and reset it. You just have to pry it out from the front of the switch, but be careful not to damage the door panel.

Thanks again for quick reply. Only question that remains is what do you mean by "reset it"?
Doesn't disconnecting the battery do such "resetting" (which only seems to temporarily work), or is there something else that has to be done?

I have the exact same problem as the OP. Did the OP resolve this issue? Thanks.

my car was totaled (while parked) ~1 yr ago. Never had chance to try any of suggested solutions.
