When you put the oil filter back on, wipe the area on the engine clean that makes contact with the filter. Then with your new oil, put a light coat on the rubber gasket of the new oil filter. I do this with my finger, just dip it in the the bottle and rub a coat on the filter. This is so the rubber gasket won't bind to the engine block. It also makes it easier to remove the filter the next time you do an oil change.

I did, I'll post a pic of how nasty my car was. Got mud EVERYWHERE, took me a while to clean the car and find all the mud...

Default MUD???

I have same car in '99 version - I admire your wheels. You should, however, be arrested for taking a car like this mud wrestling, or whatever it was...

Use the Toyota brand filter - it is made differently and is better than the Fram/Purolator versions, even though they'll do if you change your oil often. Best place to buy the filters is (as suggested previously) the Toyota dealer instead of Lexus, or mail order.

Dude, your right, I slapped myself silly for that stunt.... Mud was all over, I mean, I had no idea. I had to power hose the car seemingly forever. Had a blast though (but never again).

Thanks for the compliment and I agree, use the Lexus oil filter.
