Okay, here goes. ANy questions, please ask me.
I change my oil every 5k miles.
I use Castrol as I have never had any engine overheating or wear problems since changing my oil in my 1989 Nissan Sentra. The 2 cars with over a million miles use castrol (well the owners).
Fist pic, this is what you need to make it a smooth job (beer not pictured eh Mean Gene, Percy)

I learned from the O.G.s here, they told me take a beer break, I say DO IT!!!
This here is the oli pan, get a wrench thingie and screw off. Put you oil pan (that collects the old oil) not directly under it but in the direction the oil will shoot out.. (kinda like, uhh nevermind)

Now you can go to the parts dept in the Lexus dealer and buy the OEM filter for $9 or use a Fram or Purolater filter. I have never had a problem with any, though some insist on the OEM filter (the OEM is black, notice the Purolator Plus is blue $5)
