Replace a door VIN label after paint repair?
I had a door on one of our Lexus repaired. The paint looks perfect and it was done a couple of years ago by a very well respected body shop. The re-paint was in the inside too, so the black Lexus sticker with the VIN number was removed in the painting process. I have the documentation from the repair, the door was not replaced, the skin was but the frame remains and it was repainted inside and out to match.
Is it possible to get the vin sticker replaced?

The body shop has to provide the old sticker. Which we have to send along with a form to get a new one. It usually takes a while to get. We can't order a new one without sending in the old sticker.

Thanks, sounds like good and bad news. Good that it can be replaced, bad that since a couple of years have elapsed, the chances of finding the old sticker are pretty low.
