Default Help finding the issue GS300 VVTI

Well a few weeks ago i noticed a light squeak from the cam gears is where it sounded like. Didint have time to get to it so i stop driving it as much as possible. Took the cam gear cover off and noticed a slight wobble on the exhaust cam center bolt. Fired it up a few days later and now it sounds like the exhaust cam is running wild in there. Will have time to take it apart this weekend but would like some insight on what im getting myself into.

Working on the VVTi system is very involved. The exhaust cam gear is just a solid gear, so no big deal. But the intake cam is pretty involved. Since you only seem to have a problem with the exhaust gear, just take it slow, make sure the engine is at the BTDC marks prior to removing the tensioner. Make sure you mark the belt to the gears prior as well.
