Default Noise When backing and then applying the brakes

When I go in reverse and apply the brakes i hear a noise, it sounds like it is coming from the front of the vehicle. The car is a 2002 SC430 with 77600 miles.

Grinding noise? Small sqeaking noise? Or just a one-time "click" noise?

it could be the brake pad clips.. since the shift within the caliper as the wheel move, it will click... if it bothers you that much, you may just take them out and grease them... i had that prob with my rear brakes...

Chances are it has always been there, just maybe not as audible... Its just the brake pad moving inside the caliper from the front to the rear - there is a little play in there, which is perfectly normal...

Sometimes, the little spring clips wear out and make the click a little louder...

I would take a look, or have someone take a look to be on the safe side, but, I would bet its something you probably never have to worry about...

Some put RTV sealant on the pad backing to eliminate the pad movements. You can try that.
