paper clip/light constantly flashes
I used the paper clip to check my codes but the check engine light flashes constantly. There is no hesitation to indicate the codes. I have a 1992 Sc400 help.

yes my check engine light was on and now my car just turns over strongly but will not start. I did remove my ecu but reinstalled it after cleaning my carpet outside of the car.

trouble started when
All this trouble started when I tried another ecu, it did not work so I put my old one back in. My old one still worked. I then tried another fuel pump control (located behind driver, passenger seat side cover) it worked but I put my original one back on. Is there a reset button or something that I can push. I was in the process of replacing most of my interior side panel, door panels, center console and seats. Help.

The trouble started because you tried another ECU, or you tried to fix a problem with another ECU?
Have you checked that there is spark, fuel and that the timing belt is in tact and timed correctly?
Without troubleshooting those three first and with no codes to even give you a clue, then I doubt you'll have much luck finding out your problem... Could be something as simple as a cam/crank angle sensor, could be an igniter / coil pack gone bad... We need to do some diagnosis and stop throwing parts at it...
P.S. In Juneau on a cruise right now, leaving port... Skagway tomorrow... might be online, might not... relaxing for a few after dinner right now...
