Default LX470 front brakes & rotors

Hello, it's my first time on here. I have been lurking and searching with no success.

I'm doing a front brake job on my brothers 1999 LX470. In order to remove and replace the rotors, I have to remove the hub assembly. To do that I have to remove six nuts & washers and then....... the "cone shaped wedges". And this is where the problem lies. Does anyone know the trick to getting the "cone shaped wedges" out? Is there a special tool?

Thanks for the help.

I usually tap on the side of the hub with a small hammer to loosen them, they usually pop right out after a few taps.
