Default Quick help from a Tech..

I want to "temporarily disable" my girlfriend's car for a few hours. What's the easiest thing to pull without damaging the car that would create a crank, but no start situation,
Thanks

I didn't tell you this. In fact you might be single by the time this is over.

Pull the wire on top of the disributor cap.

Ha ha! My purpose is for her to dump the Isuzu (figure she'll say I've had it with all these problems) and get a Lexus.

I was just about to pull the wire off, but won't that foul the plugs up by spitting in a lot of fuel?

I pulled the Starter fuse! Didn't even have to lift the hood!
She'll get in, turn the key, and then............ nothing!!!!
It's great because she'll see its not the battery because the accesories will be working just fine.
I highly recommend this for whatever reason you guys can think of!

If she is knowledgable, she'll think it's only a starter problem (no cranking sound) and it's cheap repair (less than $100), and she may make your replace it yourself.
And if you pull the plug top wire and she is "dumb" (no offense here), she may just crank the engine until it's flooded and the battery die. Possible results: dead O2, dead catalytic convertor, overheated starter, and burned ignition module/coil.

I would kindly and tactfully persuade her to buy her dream car instead of sitting in a "junk". Her fine fingers and silky hair deserve better than what she got. Furthermore, assure her that you'll keep the Lex in tip-top shape the way the Lex should be. Wow, who can resist that?

The starter problem worked like a charm. Isuzu didn't start, so I gave her the keys to my Lex and said, "Here babe, the Lex will never let you down." Now she wants the new RX330, but I just found out today, looks like it may be 1 year until it comes out instead of the anticipated March 2003 debut. But I also heard that it will have 240 HP and get 30 miles per gallon!!!!Its a hybrid!

Uh, isn't that considered illegal?

Let's just say for some weird reason the car does start after your 'mod' and along the highway or something the engine cuts off or ANYTHING happens, she crashes and gets killed/kills someone.

Didn't you think about this? It's your girls car, not yours.
Convince her verbally, not physically.
