Question center consul button illumination

Can anyone describe how to remove the climate controll panel fromt he center consul on a -95 LS400? I have a light out behind there for nighttime illumination. (The LED still functions.) The Dealer wants over $600.00 to do this and I think that is too much.

Additionally, anyone experience issues with the auto climate controll not working well. It feels like a sensor may be out, but I have no idea where to look to find it. (I can't get any heat unless I turn it to manual setting.) The dealer said it does not apprear to be blowing strong enough, like there is a blockage or something. I am hoping it is connected.

Other than that, I Love Thid Car.

Thank you all for any assistance.

95 LS400 ac display lights are not replacable. Thats why its so expensive. Is that what the dealer told you? The only lights that can replaced are the lights for the buttons. You have to change out the whole front screen. I've heard of people getting them fix, by whom I dont know.

Have you checked the ac filter yet? It should be replaced evry year or 15K miles.

This is the illumination behind the AC and climate controll buttons. I was told there were like 8 separate bulbs at about $10.00 a pop and I should replace all of them, I just do not want to mess with the panel until I know how to do it right.

There is an A/C filter??! Where is it located? I had the 90K service done at 83K for my convenience and I now have 114K. This would be great to know about. Thanks!

The bulbs are only for the buttons, not the display background lighting.

The ac air filter is located behind the glove box. First open the glove box. Then remove the pop out panel on the backside of the glove box. Then behind that you will see another door that can simply be popped out. Then you can remove the ac filter.

Thanks a million, I am now anxious to find that darn filter and replace it. The bulbs that are out are only the illumination for the buttons in the consul, so I think it won't be too big of a deal, assuming I can get the panel off.
