Default bought a CPO IS350 have question about fuel injection service

the car is an '09 IS350 has 29000 miles now, i looked up on the Lexus.com's service history on this car, notice it had 2 fuel injection services done already, one at 12000 miles and the other at 20000 miles. the second one is bundled with the 20k service. is there anything i should be worry about the fuel injection on this car? it has a clean carfax record and is a certified pre-own Lexus.

Fuel injection service is not even necessary on your car to begin with.

called the dealer that performed the services, the SA told me this car wasn't driven that much and mostly on streets, so there were some carbon buildup spotted by the technicians during its 10k and 20k services and they went ahead and clean out the fuel system.

They didn't spot any carbon buildup except for a small amount on the throttle body... not knocking the service, but it is not a required nor even recommended service by any car manufacturer...

does it help, sure, even the SAE (society of automotive engineers) says so, but, its nothing to be concerned about, if anything, it meant the previous owner was either over sold or just liked to spend a lot on preventive maintenance...

it was a personal lease vehicle, so i doubt the previous owner cared that much about this car. what i'm afraid is he/she had the dealer checked out the fuel system because of the horrible gas mileage. i'm noticing a dramatic drop in mpg compare to my IS250, granted it was only from the first quarter tank.

poor fuel mileage is almost completely determined by the person driving the car...

They recommended you Fuel Injection service just because it's easy to sale and to make money off of you. I remember back then working at Firestone, we would recommend it on every car lol. Easy money.

Im willing to bet the "fuel injection service" is just simply a little bottle they pour in the tank during the 10k service. Many dealers bundle fuel and oil additives with their minor services.. i wouldnt be worried. Just another day...
