will a tranny flush fix engine shake?
i have the infamous SC engine shake at about 40mph and i was wondering if a full tranny flush for $130 would get rid of that. im also getting some rough shifts (can feel the kickback) and some extra noise after those rough shifts.

Fully flushing the trans fluid is the first step to diagnose the transmission problems. For a lot of people it helped, solving all the problems with shaking, hard shifting. There are a few that had to replace the torque converter. I don't think you will find anyone who had to rebuild/replace the transmission.

Kyle,
I too had the 40mph hesitation/shake/miss. I had changed the plugs, wires, caps & rotors, did a drain and refill on the tranny, changed the EGR gasket, and finally a full flush & fill of the tranny. While all of these items served to improve general operation of the car and were necessary maintenance items, they themselves didnt eliminate the 40mph issues. As luck would have it, i had the air box out of the car and had a peek into the throttle body which was full of gook! I did what i could with a rag & carb cleaner and gave it a few shots of cleaner with the engine running. This didnt completly clean the throttle body like an off the car cleaning would BUT, it did ELIMINATE my 40mph issues. Dont know if it'll help yours or not but, its worth a shot. I'm at 139k btw on a 94.
Good luck,
JW
