Have you tried jumpstarting it? Call Lexus roadside they'll come out and do it free of charge whether you're in warranty or not. Do you know if the battery is original? Will the accessory come on?(radio, gauges etc). Always go with the simplest solution first, which would be the battery. If the battery is old then it is a lot more likely to discharge overnight when its cold. I always replace batteries and cables in my cars at 3 years as a maintenance item, and I've never been left stranded by a dead battery. My dad had a similar issue in his 98 LS400 last winter, he called Lexus roadside, they brought him a new battery, only coist to him was the $80 or so for the battery, he was out of warranty.
You can check the eye on the battery itself, if you see green the battery is good, if you see black it isn't.

it cranks over fine.. just about like normal speed..
flooring it makes no difference. Now.. it does not even try to start. just spins over... its turning over a little slower but the battery is a little old.. I don't think thats it however. might call rodside .. even though it is out of warrenty.
edit
well.. i just found out that the roadside service is good for 4years... (I thought it was 3 like the certified preowned warrenty).. so at least thats some good news.

Its the battery, I'm 95% certain.
If the battery is original, especially. Thats why it doesn't even try and start, you drained all the juice left before.
Do you get accesory power when you turn the key to run? Radio, optitron gauges etc? If you do get these things full and strong, and the battery eye is okay, then it could be the starter.

all accessories are working normally
I think it should be getting enough voltage to run the ecm and injectors bc its cranking over fine. But.. looks like I will know when they pickup it.. maybe can try jumping with a porta booster.

its running again..
must be a bad battery afterall. I used a little porta jumper (that had had at home and was not keeping in the car) and that did the trick. Did not bust right off.. spun for a bit... i stopped and then tried again and it started as normal.
I knew the bat was getting old.. just from the way it was spinning slower.. and had even recently thought about keeping the booster in the car.
But, based on the symptoms ,, I don't know that I would have tried that last night..
Seems like some computers need more than 13volts and if they don't get it either there's no spark or fuel shot.
and the guy that showed.. did not have a flatbed.
I also found out that there does not seem to be a fuel filter made for the gs4 at least not by aftermarket suppliers.

Just kidding man. In my experience its 95% the simplest solution. Glad she's running, but do get that batt replaced, cables too. Its not hard to do, I always do it myself.
So did you have to have it towed? Without a flatbed, that sucks. I always specify flatbed only when I call. Ain't gonna drag my car around lol. Seeing that I drive an Explorer until I get the Lexus, I have to call a good bit.
I always buy Sears Craftsman batteries myself, they've never let me down. Just run down there, buy a battery, bring it home, bolt it up and try it out. Then take the old battery back and they'll give ya ten bucks for it.
I've also heard good things about the Optima batts.

well.. most of my battery experinece has been much more logical than what the gs did
You can usually deduce what it is a little more in the days of old.. but whos to say now with OBD-X cars.
And,, just the other day.. it got kind of a rough idle for a few seconds.. made me think it was fuel related..
Did not have it towed at all. I got back before he got there with my own jumper and had it running already. Went to the local parts store and got one for 40bucks. Seems to be more cranking amps than the original.
OEM was 12.7 volts and 334 crankamps in the condition it was in.
Roadside service (found it on the web) is 800-255-3987
