Wrinkling seat cushion...
Hi everyone...
I have a 2000 Platinum Edition GS400 with the perforated leather on the seat cushion insert. My car has very low mileage and the cushion has started to get baggy (kind of tent). I am thinking about going to the dealer about it but I wanted to ask some fellow CL members what your cars look like. Could you please post year, mileage, condition, and even a picture of your cushion insert to help me ?
Thanks
MIKE

Mike:
I have the same GS as you do, and the same problem as well. The driver's side seat cushion is wrinkled, and the passenger side is starting to do the same. The wear started before 13,000 miles, which is when I bought the vehicle from a private party. I was thinking about buying a seat cover, which would look ugly, but might slow down the process of the seat wearing out. My Acura had 36,000 miles on it and didn't have this problem with the leather seats. BTW, I'm 175lbs, so its not like I'm too heavy for the seats.

Hi, I have a 2002 GS300 and noticed the same thing at about 15K miles. I asked them to replace it since I considered it poor quality rather than normal wear and tear. The dealer replaced it.

Thanks for the info guys...
Thanks for the info guys....I would also like to see some pics.
I will try and take some pics of my seats this weekend.
Thanks
MIKE
p.s. the dealer has told me that is normal wear and tear....I will tell you that it is not....atleast it should not be. It is a design flaw. DaimlerChrysler is kicking my a$$ on this same issue as we speak.
