Hi, I have been noticing that every time I replace the oil in my car, the oil filter comes off empty. Also when I start the car it takes a couple of seconds for the oil pressure light to turn off. During those few seconds there is a knocking sound coming from the engine. If anyone knows anthing about this type of problem please let me know. THANKS

Personally I drive a Chrysler clunker so I could care less what kind of filter I use. But with a decent car I would use the factory filter wether its a Ford, Chevy or Lexus.
I've worked for different dealerships and have heard many issues involving this type and severely worse problems from using non-oe filters. Let us know how/if this fixed it.

muldrick,
toyota filters, to the best of my knowledge ALL have anti-drain valves on them. many aftermarket filters do not. This feature is especially critical if you have a I6 with manual and high performance clutch. The second or two gap between start-up and proper oil pressure ( usually with the clutch pushed in ) causes crank-walk. I've seen a few supras come in with the problem at the shop.
