Could someone briefly let me know the steps in changing the oil on an RX350 (2012 model) and identify what parts could possibly be damaged in the process? Is it an easy process. Thanks.

There are DIY's on here, but the basics:
get access to oil drain plug (lift car, remove plastic if applicable)
loosen drain plug, remove, let all oil drain out (into something that will hold 6-7 quarts minimum)
reinstall drain plug snugly (unsure of torque spec, but tight)
remove oil filter housing cap (special tool required)
remove oil filter
replace o-ring for oil filter cap, and install new oil filter
replace and tighten oil filter cap
add 5 quarts of oil, start car, watch for leaks, watch for oil pressure light to turn off, turn car off
check fluid level, add as necessary to get to the middle of the hash marks on the dipstick...
what can be damaged? most common is the drain plug and/or oil pan - overtighten it, cross thread it, all bad stuff... worse than that, not get something tight, lose the oil which will make short work of the motor... don't get the oil filter installed correctly, or install the wrong one, the oil will just bypass the filter completely, which isn't good...
