Default Window Issue

98 GS400 w/205K on the clock. Driver side window has been acting weird lately. It works now, but sometimes when rolling up, like auto up, it'll start to go up, then pause, or drop slightly, then continue up, once, maybe several times on it's way up.

It's also slower than the other windows. Is the cause a faulty window motor, or as I understand it the mechanical "scissor" regulator/mechanism that moves the glass that is to blame?

Which part needs replacing? Also when it does that dance going up from the down position, the motor sounds like it's running normally.

Just so there no confusion on my end. Youre referring to the mechanical frame that holds the glass, and NOT the motor itself, yes?

That's good news if that's the case. That part is half the price of a new motor.

Yes, the mechanical scissor frame.
