GS400 98 Spark Plug Change
I was not able to find a post addressing the changing of the 98 gs4, if someone has a link or can answer my questions directly I really would appreciate it.
Excuse me if I do not use the correct terminology.
Seeing as the dealer wants $275, and most other places want just over $100+$100 plugs I have decided to once again undertake a DIY. Hopefully I won't misthread anything and destroy the engine.
The right side looks pretty straightforward though I have one question. (1) After you remove the bolt holding each cap on what is the easiest way to get the cap off without damaging anything. Should it just come off if you pull? Or do I need to get underneath it with a flathead?
The left side, of course the question about the caps still applies, but I am more concerned about the Air Intake. I see I think 3 bolts holding it in place, but there are the hoses/piping that you have to disconnect to get it out of the way. (2) What is the best way to accomplish this?
that's all for the moment

Remove all the bolts that hold the air intake, loose all the hose clamps and carefully remove the vacuum hoses( don't break the small plastic pipe). Then loose the 10mm hose clamp that connect to the intake. Give it some twist to remove it from the car.
Then remove the connector and 10mm bolt that hold the coil pack. Just carefully pull the coil pack out. I found it easier to remove when the engine is warm. If the rubber boot stuck in the spark hole, STOP! Put everything back and take it to the dealer.
