What's a Fair Price for OEM Quality Pads & Rotors Installed?
A local dealer quoted $900+ - But, I'm hoping to get the same quality parts / service for much less. Am I being unrealistic? Please advise by name & location if you know of anyone who you can recommend for a much lower cost. Thanks . . .

buy the parts off Sewell Lexus. Use your CL username to signup for the discount, bring the parts to an independent shop
why do you need new rotors? If they are still thick enough keep using them, common stealership claim for them to tell you you need new rotors when changing pads.

rotors only need to be replaced if they are too thin to machine, or if the have hot spots on them. the prices on rotors just went down, i believe a full front brake job with rotors is between 600-800 depending on model.
the fronts are about $420 to replace pads and machine rotors, the rears are about $295 to replace the pads, or $480 to replace the pads and resurface the rotors.
these prices are the prices from the dealer that i work for, they may be different at your local dealer. but $900 sound high.

I recently had the front brakes done on my 2002 ES300. I bought OEM (Toyota) pads online for $38.99 (shipping included) and then bought the shim kit from the Toyota dealer for $20.46. The sameToyota dealer put the pads on and machined the rotors for $225. So total = $285.

Wow you guys are paying out the wazoo for stuff as simple as brakes. $400-$800? Gawd all mighty. LOL. I get it if you don't have time or it's too complex to do it on an IS350 (I don't own one)...but last I checked brakes are probably the easiest of many DIY maintenance.
I would take it to Just Brakes and have them replace the rotors if it was that much of a hassle, if that's too 'ghetto' or 'cheap' for ya'll then I guess what he said above ^^ buy 'em from a cheaper source and outsource the labor.
If I can do it on my '91 Land Cruiser which is about 2 times as complex and laborious, you can do it on a sedan with a little guidance and reading.
