Either one is fine. I have used both and to be honest, I dont know how to tell if there is any difference between them. I am assuming you are using full synthetic oil? At what interval do you change oil? I change my oil at 5k max so I am not worry.

Id use the filter designed and sold by the company that make the car/engine... OEM all the way.

Although im sure both do the job well enough... i just trust OEM more.

Thanks guys I change my oil twice a year because I only put a couple thousand miles a year on it being its not my DD. I think ill use the OEM one this time around and the M1 the next time.

Either is fine.

Toyota doesn't build oil filters, they simply contract someone else to, to their specs. Hard to go wrong with them obviously, but Mobil makes a good product that could be arguably better...

Flip a coin. Either one will get the job done. Mobil makes good filters so I'd trust it.

Either one will work, but for curiosity..i'd consider saving each of them once they are used up and cutting them open for filter media and construction comparison. Then the speculation will end.

Pre-greased?

I'm not sure I'm aware of what you are talking about and I have definitely used many OEM filters...

Either way, you should always take some clean new oil and run it around the sealing surface, as well as making clean the mating surface on the oil filter housing is clean as well...

The rubber ring on the oil filter had grease on it. I still but a little oil on it but it was definitely greased. This is OEM.
