Default Squeaky, Creaky moonroof molding!

Not a Ben&Jerry's ice cream... a problem with my damned moon roof! The molding over the driver's side (always the driver's side ;-) creaks and squeaks constantly over the past 4 weeks. I've had them look at the problem several times. They "make adjustments" and the sound always gets worse! I used to be able to get rid of the noise by closing the moonroof (not even close to being an ideal solution) but now it's so loud it comes right through. The service guys told me they replaced the foam padding inside the molding during my last visit and the problem still persists. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? Do I just need to get the entire molding and padding replaced or what?

My roof also is making a clicking noise when driving over bumps. There is a repair kit from Lexus for the GS which I think you already explained. I plan on having this checked when spring rolls around. My wife has a RX300 with the same sound and they said the GS fix would take care of the noise which it did. Not sure why you are still having this problem

Default Possible Fix

I had an SC300 with a sunroof that used to squeak exactly as you've described. I took it to Lexus Service, they had a technician ride with me in the car, he took me back to the service bay and put some type of lubricant around the seal. Fixed the problem immediately. Hope this helps.

Here's a link to an old thread concerning TSB's for the GS...included is one about the sunroof. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...moonroof+noise

I answered this a while back, sounds exactly like the noise that I was having. The product I posted about solved it for me, it lasts for months since it's waterproof. I have read where others went to Lexus and the lubricant they applied lasted only a couple weeks. Hope this helps.
