Default Clean Throttle Body,New Valve Cover Gaskets-Anything Else?

While i'm doing a comprehensive throttle body cleaning on a 90 LS400,i also plan to replace the valve cover gaskets.Anything else to replace/look for while i'm at that level of breakdown? All suggestions gladly accepted

Hmmm..may be spark plugs and spark plug wire for now. And do the caps and rotors later on when you do the water pump.

Default starter while your there

I have a 92ls and performed the same maintenence you are currently doing, the one other thing you may think about replacing,if it hasnt been done yet, is the starter. unfortunately it is directly under the intake manifold, oddly enough why they put it there, but i bought mine from auto zone for about 150 and went ahead and installed it while i had everything broken down. to make things easier with all the small parts you have to take off ,you may want to tape numbers on the parts as you take them off, then when you go back to put them on you dont get confused, trust me, doing the starter yourself will save about a grand that the dealer may charge for the job.It is a pretty tough job but once your there at least it gets done. 92lexus out.

Default All Good Ideas...

Thanks! now i find the lack of A/C is due to a bad evaporator,i guess while that's being replaced i might just install a new starter as this vehicle has the original starter at 232K miles.I can see the bank account starting to drain..
