2 sets of cats means OBD II?
This is from a Ford site so it may be different, but the author states that if a car has two oxygen sensors like all our Lexus cars do that it must be OBD II. I always thought my car was OBDI, but I have a total of 4 O2 sensors.
Anyone know ?

"In the pre-OBDII days, there was only one O2 sensor in each pipe. The sensors basically function as a switch that is mixture dependent. The EEC never really sees a value for fuel mixture it simply sees a signal that says "rich" or "lean" and adjusts the fuel flow accordingly. A wideband O2 sensor has the capability to read fuel mixture, but these are not on any production vehicles (from Ford anyway). With the advent of OBDII, the government said that there has to be a way to know if the cats are functioning properly. The solution was to add a set of O2 sensors to read the mixture after the cats. To explain how these operate together is a little more complicated. "

I got my smog test today, and happened to pick up a flyer on ODBII at the testing facility. Both the flyer and the receptionist stated that almost all 1996 and newer cars are ODBII, with a few from 1994 and 1995 also.
