I don't think I've ever seen one, but I've read about them way back. They are facilities that rent you a service bay and lift (usually on an hourly basis) to allow you to service your own car. They provide the electricity and compressed air, you provide the rest. I think, due to many factors, they've dwindled down to just a handful.
