Default Replacing MPH to KPH speedometer lexus GS400 2001

Hi guys.
i recently replaced my speedometer from MPH to KPH(i replaced mph dial with right handside japanese spec KPH dial) now the issue is that the dial is kph but the the speed of the needle is still in mph... so do i need to change the speed sensors aswell from moh to kph(which means i have to replace the old american spec with japanese spec)???

Sounds like wrong dial. If Needle points to 90 MPH the the replaced dial should show 145KPH or so or as you say may needs new sensor.
