gas pedal problem
I have a 92 SC300. When I first press on the gas pedal I feel some tension and the pedal wont go down smooth. Then it all of a sudden will go down resulting in me going very fast as it finally has a breaking free kind of feeling. Anyone else had this problem? Some help appreciated. Thanks

What you are probably experiencing is the fact that the car's fluids have not sufficiently warmed up to permit 'lead-foot' acceleration. It happens every morning I take my 99 RX out.
Over time, it will get worse unless you take certain steps. Possible causes when that happens include: dirty fuel injectors (use Techron from Chevron), dirty air filter (clean it out thoroughly or replace, K&Ns are good), pistons not moving equally through cycle (there is a product called Restore that can alleviate this, AutoRx is another good product), ATF fluid needs a change.

You may have some carbon deposit at the butterfly plate inside the throttle body. You can remove the intake tube and use carburator cleaner. Turn the throttle cable by hand until the butterfly opened half way and spray some carburator cleaner right at the pivot where the butterfly mounted on and use a wire brush to clean the back side of the butterfly.
