Synthetic oil question...

Mobil 1's old formulation was called Tri-Syn. Their new formulation is called Super-Syn.
I don't know exactly what the differences are but I have been using Mobil 1 since 1998 in my last car and now my ES and have had no problems ever.
Get whatever syn. is on sale. Mobil just seems to always have cool free stuff offers.
As for the statement of not being able to switch back, that is a total myth instituted by the synthetic oil manufacturers to keep you in synthetic (it costs more, they make more). It is just that, a total myth.
You can switch back to dino oil or a blend at any time you wish.

That's what it was- thank you.
Anyway, I remember reading all these reports that showed that Mobil's new forumla was worse than the Tri-Syn. I can't remember the specifics, but you may want to check it out.

mobil 1 all the way
i always use mobil 1 on my gs430 and change the oil every 3000 - 3500 miles. My car seems to be extremely smooth at very high speeds 120+mph. I go 100+ at least once a day and my engine noise is extremely quiet.
