Question Oil for the LS 400

being that i didnt get a owners manual with my 97 400, i would like to know what is the ideal oil weight, and how many quarts are needed. i just had an oil change from the dealer and forgot to ask what they used. iam sure they used dino oil, and that is what i plan to continue. i only use synthetic oil in my twin turbo z, i really dont think it nesessary in the 400 IMHO. from looking at the search, there are many weight s used, but i did notice the 5w30 trend with 5.5 qts. just want to make sure this is ok.

thanks
bj

5.4 quarts is what the car calls for.
If you used 5.5 then it's fine.
