I have a '93 es300. With the car running, I cant shift out of park. The only way I cant get into any other gear is to use the manual overide button. When I park the car, and start it again, the problems starts right back up, it's been happening for like 2days. WHat should I do!?!

Check out my post in Engine & Transmissions 7-29-03,
In summary- there is a solonoid at the base of the shifter that drives a locking pin through the shifter. The manual overide is a linkage that push's/unlocks the solonoid. My solonoid had frozen from the car being parked for 12 month. After removing the shifter trim and the cover thingamachadoie (that has the park/drive reverse strips) you will see the solonoid. I strayed WD-40 on the shaft and slid it back and forth till it was free again. Can use a flatblade screwdriver but a pair of heymostats works best ( yes unlike President Clinton, I did inhale).
Hope this solves your problem
