Default Very loud noise after replacing PS pump

I just recently replaced my p/s pump and lines on my 90 LS, and it seems like it makes the noise became louder. My mechanic told me that it would take a week for the air bubbles to work its way out of the lines so expect the noise. Is this a normal occurence when replacing the pump and lines?

Yes, that happen to me in my SC400 and LS400 in the past also. To help speed up getting the bubbles out turn the steering wheel fully to the left then to the right several times each day. It took me a couple of days to get the noise to reduce.
