Default Replacing my fuel filter

A while back when I was at the lexus dealer they said not to replace my fuel filter because it was too risky. They said something like, if the bolts strip or wear off (something to that matter) then it is going to cost me a arm and 1/2. Is this true? I think I need to replace mine but this kind of has me scared. Anybody else had a problem with this?

Thanks for all of your help as usual!

Best Regards,

-Jason Elcan

Do you think I would be able to do it myself if my bolt strips?

And did you notice a difference after the new fuel filter was installed? If so, what?

its like changing your oil filter... if you want to have your car last.. change the necessary filters and fluids.. i couldnt get the bolt off because it was already stripped... just take it to some local garage and they should get it off aand replace the bolt...

When I replace my fuel filter do I have to have a empty tank of gas?

It's not the dumb dealerships who say it's a lifetime filter. It's Lexus Corporate who says that. If it was up to the dealers they'd sell you one every 30K.
