Default 06 RX330 running hot

Today my radiator cooling fan came on for the first time ever. A while later my temp needle moved toward hot. After stopping and let it cool some, I poured some water into the cooler reserve tank and the engined sucked about half of it in. Would it be that radiator was low on antifreeze? I have noticed no pinholes on hoses, steam or coolant leaks on driveway. After driving some more, I noticed it better but on stop lights the needle will still move some. Suggestions on what this might be are appreciated!

If you see no obvious leaks, although i would look closely around the radiator seams.
I'd start by replacing the thermostat and go from there.
Take a close look under the t-stat housing if the coolant plate is leaking as well.
Pressure testing the cooling system is also a way of finding small leaks.
Pink crust is also a sign of leak.

At least we know your fans are working.
How many by the way are turning ON when it gets HOT?
