Thumbs down Bay Ridge Lexus / Parts Dept

Just want some of your opinions to the people who went to the Bay Ridge Parts Dept.

IMO, they SUCK. Everytime I go in there, I always come out angry or annoyed. Also, I found out from some people that they jack up the price WAAAYYY too much. Does lexus have a policy of how much they can inflate the price from MSRP? The couple of times that I have been to Lexus Of Manhatten, it was like night and day from Bay Ridge. They actually treated me like a human being and was patient with me when I had a few questions to ask. I remember one time I asked a parts guy how much is an extra battery for my key, and he said "Well, that is expensive, it'll be around $45" Though, I found out later, the MSRP was like $10. So he inflated the price more than 3x the amount. I know Lexus inflates the price to a certain degree but I don't think these guys are following proper procedure.

Honestly, I am not trying to bad-mouth anybody, especially people from Lexus, BUT the service I get from Bay Ridge Lexus is disgraceful. I sometimes wonder does anybody up the corporate ladder keep a watchful eye on how these people treat customers?

I bought center caps for stock rims from them. First day that I came they only had 2 , so they told me to come back, when I came back for the second pair they charged me a different price. I heard better things about Lexus of Manhattan than them.

Funny thing is that they are both owned by the same people. Does Lexus of Manhattan still give Club Lexus members 15% off? I got my front plate bracket from them with that discount.

Most of the dealerships in Bay Ridge are owned by the same company. I agree that their service is very bad, and not just in the Lexus one but in all of them. This is why i never take my car in for service. I had a few bad experiences, 1 for example, is having to take my car in 4 times to fix the brake light on the spoiler they installed. Thank god that i have a lexus and it doesnt have problems.

It is true that they are owned by the same family, but 2 totally different management styles and completely different "class" of people. The Manhattan guys I think are a little more responsive because they have more occasion to tend to a "higher profile" audience...I know that Al Roker, Geraldo Rivera, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and others have all gone there, but in Bay Ridge (not trying to offend anyone) there is a bit more of the "wise guy" crowd. It all (for better or worse) has to do with the demographics.

And yes we still get the 15% off.

Just called Bay Ridge for 60K service. The guy told me they do the timing belt at 60K and it would cost $1,500.00. I thought and read here that is for 90K service.

Who do you believe?

They are a bunch of idiots! On top of that, they charge 3 times what Carson charges. I remember one time I had to ask about something regarding foglights. They had the nerve to hang up on me because they got annoyed of answering! Oh, Great Bay Ridge Lexus service..
