Default Warning about Magnussen's Lexus of Fremont

I want to warn customers of Magnussen's Lexus of Fremont. If you own a 2004 or newer Lexus and need a 15k, 30k, 45k, 60k, or 90k they are charging customers to change world standard transmission fluid when Lexus states that it is life long and never needs to be changed. They are doing this without advising to the customer. This is wrong and needs to be addressed so nobody else gets taken advantage of. If you have had one of these services performed at Magnussen's Lexus of Fremont and your Lexus takes this fluid call Lexus and file a complaint.

I'm a fix it myself if I don't think it's over my head type. My sons and I are the first option on all of our cars. We have 5 and 1/5. 1/5 of a SVX is in my basement.

hi, i have a 01 RX300 and I service it regularly at LXT automotive, it is a shop specialized in Lexus only, it is located in Rockville MD; the owner Nelson has been a diagnostic specialist for Lexus for 16+ years. He got my rear outputshaft seal, whatever it means, covered under my extended warranty, why do not you check this guy out, maybe he can give you an advise. His email is lxtautomotive@yahoo.com or his number is 3018814066.

By the way excellent costumer service!!!!! and very affordable!!!!

I take all my cars to my Japanese Master Mechanic. I've been going to him for 15 years. He is a great mechanic, very honest and trustworthy. I'll go to the Lexus dealer only if I have to, for warranty repairs, and nothing else.

i do everything myself

dealer is a waste. they overcharge, under-deliver, and sometimes even lie. this is coming from both the worker and customer sides of it. not just one dealer that i dealt with.

I think having a well knowledgeable person to work on your car is important. By this I mean a person who knows the product and the car. If you do your own maint then ok, just make sure you take your time and do it 100%. I hate to charge people that mess there car up. It is not always easy to make it to the dealer if you live far away. In this case most people will find a Toyota/Lexus shop that may be owned by a ex tech. Don't go to the super cheep places to get any work done. 9 times out of 10 you get what you pay for. I think we all know who I mean. Be smart about it you may want to keep your car for a long time so make sure it doesn't bite you in the *** later. The dealer is your best bet in any case if you look at it from a level of quality/safety. You should look into the dealer close to you and how they work to make sure your expectations will be met. Don't think all dealers work the same.
I have worked for Lexus for sometime and want to make sure people are in good hands. If you have a good history with your dealer then it can make a situation less of problem for you. In any business a good customer will have the ability for a discount and help in a bad situation. The cars resell value will be better with a dealer maint history. It is good for trade in to get all that you can when getting a new car. I hope that what was just said will help you all make you decision on your cars maintenance.

Dealer. don't want to take the time or have the inclination to do it myself and haven't found a local shop that i think would be better.

Default Dealer Only

Lexus Carlsbad ~ They take care of you like a supah star! So far, I have not paid for a single service and drank all the cafe mocha latte' to my heart's desire while I wait. My car leaves washed, vacuumed & detailed. And the owner of the dealership is also a UCLA Bruin Alum (gosh, it sure helps to have that connection ) I can't wait until my next service!!!!
