Precursor to the predicament: my O/D light is flashing and the speedometer isn't working, so I'm assuming (thanks to suggestions from the board) that the O/D is flashing because my speed sensor went out.
Now..
My 93 SC400 won't start... It looks like the battery, because when I put the key in the ignition, the lights on the dash are really dim, and the car turns over but won't start. So I tried to jump start it, and all of the lights lit up nice on the dash, but the same thing happened; but it sounded like it got a little closer to starting. Could this be a fuse or something? It was running fine earlier, until I popped the hood to check the oil and tranny fluid. Maybe something came loose somewhere? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys, you're always a big help..

Finally had a chance to work on the SC today.. BIG thanks to onelasttry and THE_CEO! I removed the ground from the battery and cleaned both ends along with the terminal that connects to the battery and the car is good as new! You guys are the best!

I just bought some spray battery terminal cleaner, terminal protectant spray and felt terminal washers last week and had a chance to use them yesterday.
It worked really well. I removed the battery terminals and used the spray cleaner which did a great job. Then I put the washers on and sprayed the terminals with the protectant.
Looks good and clean.
