I was told in this forum that the AC cabin filter of the 98 ES300 is located right behind the gas pedal. I pulled the carpet behind the gas/brake pedals out yesterday and found nothing. All I could see was the black soft foam material sticked to the body of the car in that area and the white plastic cover vertically beside the center console area.

Can anyone verified that the actaul location of the AC cabin filter in 98 ES300 ?

The AC filter is behind the white plastic cover that you're talking about. The location is actually on the right side of the gas pedal, behind the carpet.

You can take out the vertical plastic cover and see horizontal filter ****

We have the space for it but don't have the actual filter.. At least mine doesn't..

Yep! that was my case too. U.S. imports were not supplied with cabin filters, want one you have to purchase this item.
