Cabin Air Filter for 1992 ES300
Hi,
This is my first post here. Hoping someone call help me with my 1992 ES300 cabin filter question.
I bought a Toyota genuine Cabin Air Filter part number 88880-33020 for Lexus ES300 1992-2001 cars.
When the car mechanic tried to install it behind the glove box, he showed me that there was no cabin air filter compartment to put it into. At that point another mechanic told us that for SOME 1992 ES300's, that were manufactured during the early months of that year, or even in Nov-Dec of 1991 (but still technically a 1992 car), that there was no cabin air filter feature.
Now another person has told me that this cabin air filter is installed somewhere behind the gas pedal, in a compartment under the carpet.
Is anyone familiar with this issue? I would like to either have the cabin air filter installed or else try to return the part.

It is explained in this youtube video for a 1997 ES300 which is probably the same as your vehicle. It is near the gas pedal. Good Luck.
