Default Snap on scan damaging Occupant Module Lexus

Snap on says their 18.4 scanning software no longer damages the Occupant Module in Lexus cars. However, my 2008 GS 350 after a local guy cleared all check lights
with his Snap on running 18.4 started having the SRS light come on and giving codes 1650 and 1797...Has anyone had this problem?

I have with 17.2. Snap on ended up taking care of it and sent me 18.4. But certainly afraid to ever reset all computers again hearing this.
