Default Strut Mounts, Boots, Insulators

I got a 1991 LS400 with 178k miles and I plan on lowering my car 1 inch

I have already replaced my shocks with KYB awhile ago but i need some input on some stuff..

I have lower ball joints waiting to be changed too

Now mechanics tell me the insulation between the Spring and the Shock needs to be changed.. heres a picture indicated where teh rubber would go... this is not my car, but an example

Also, I was suggested to purchase the Boot which includes this insulation, Bump stops that go on top of the shock shaft, and strut mounts...

I have bought teh strut mounts from tirerack thinkign some kind of insulation for the spring would come but it was only the the top of the assembly...

I really need some advice from you guys.. help me out
Thanks

_peter

I recently replaced the lower insulation on my 99 RX. My mechanic and I needed over an hour playing around with clamps for the springs, but it worked and it is not much quieter. Other Toyotas have a similar design, Camry and Sienna come to mind offhand.

Without actually knowing if the size changed from the Lexus OEM, I have no idea what type of lower rubber insulation would go on your vehicle. On the RX the front insulations are slightly larger than the rears. It is an important piece as if it is torn or missing, you will definitely feel it in the ride, and probably hear a little clanking.

I recommend to get the new insulators both top and bottom, because you already disassembly the struts. It will help the spring from rubbing against shock.

There is no lower insulator, spring just sets on strut.

Would you post the part numbers for each part as well?
