![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I experienced something weird for the first time today. I had the moonroof open, and went to close it as usual and flipped the switch forward. It closed, then immediately opened about 1/3. Hitting the switch again resulted in the same thing. I held the switch, same thing. So I opened it all the way and then closed it and it finally stayed shut. This happened again later in the day.
Is this normal? Was I accidentally holding the switch in a certain way?

What year is your GS? Never had any moonroof problem with my 2001 GS430.
I did notice that problem on the new RX330 when it first came out. Had to do a complete cycle of opening and closing to get the moonroof to close properly. The Lexus technician was aware of the problem on the RX330.

This happens on my '98 GS400 every once and awhile. Here's how I fix it. Place your hand on the back section of the glass (with moonroof open). Set roof to close. When there is about 4 inches or so left before it closes, push up on the rear section of the glass (just firm pressure, not too hard). I don't know what the problem is (something the alignment with the glass I assume) but this works for me every time. Let me know if this works for you.

It's a 98 GS400. ives, I'll try your solution if/when it happens again. I have to say, I felt like an idiot parked on a street with people walking by and my moonroof closing and opening and closing and...
If it persists I'm going to take it to my local dealer.

I had that problem also, I first noticed it when I used my remote to open the roof and windows, it took forever for me to get it to close. I'm never using my remote for that again.

Happens on mine too! Mine's decem, ber 1997 gs series II 300 se. It happens sporadically. When it happens I have to end up holding the button till it gets about 1 inch from closure, stop it for a a fraction of a second, then press it forward again and it closes. It can be quite a pain when it happens, but it's not often.

I have experienced the same issue 2 times, as a temporary fix this last time (2 days ago) I pushed the tilt button as the roof was closing and it seemed to work. I have not had the chance to try this again.
