Default Lexus battery warranty question

New Lexus owner here. I purchased a 2014 Lexus GS350 from a private party not too long ago. The car came with a Lexus OE battery. The battery suddenly died last night and it's still within the 24 month replacement. The sticker on the battery is 3/20 so it well within the 24 month replacement warranty period.

Before I go ask the dealer and maybe get the run around, I just want to confirm with users here whether Lexus dealers will honor the battery warranty for a second owner. I won't be able to take the Lexus back to where the battery was installed since it was purchased in another city.

Thanks in advance.

Default Make sure you have proof

If you have the RO/paperwork that proves its a Lexus battery that was installed by a Lexus dealer, they will warranty it regardless of whatever Lexus location you go to. The service advisor will also be able to pull it through the TIS service history to see, but I'm not 100% sure if the one you go to will still replace it under warranty. Definitely call and check ahead.

A battery warranty only applies to the original purchaser of the battery.
