Don't know if this explains it, plus it's been quite a while since your friend was tinted, but when I got my Lumar tint put on, the installer warned me that it would look cloudy for a while but would clear given a few weeks depending on temp and sunlight. It was, and it did. He might want to talk with his installer.

Don't worry about it. Its the glue ...it will turn clear very shortly...really depends on the outside temperature...warmer is better.

Hmm... it's been over a month since it was tinted. What part of CA. is your friend from and what's the weather like? Seems like it's been quite a long time for there to still be a haze. I'm in So. Cal. and my tint (done around the same time) cleared up in about 2-3 days.

Then maybe the window wasn't properly cleaned or there is a defect with the tint....start over.

If it has been 1 month..you're right..probably wont dissappear anymore.

On my car it's not so much a hazy tint as it is an "oily-like" surface. Maybe it's the brand of the tint that you are using? On my bimmer, I have 3M ultra-dark tint and it's beautiful, no reflection, nothing, just straight blackness. On my Aristo, I have the V-Kool platinum tint and it comes back to me mirror-like almost with the strange oil-like haze on an angle. It did not affect vision at all, just seems pretty strange looking.
