Could this be that the shop did an incorrect Cam seal job for my GS400?

Default Could this be that the shop did an incorrect Cam seal job for my GS400?

I recently took my 98 GS400 to get it's cam seals and crank seal replaced as well as the thermostat. I received the car back in a timely manner but I see that the area around where the vvti gear sits (directly above the cover) has oil around it.
could this be something bigger than what I originally had the shop do or do you guys think they did the cam seal wrong in the driver side? It's only on the driver side.

Can only guess. I'm surprised the shop didn't clean up that area there is fresh oil but also obviously oil mixed with dirt and grime indicating a long term leak. Did you get your old parts back?
