I went to midas and meineke and they were afraid to do wheel alignment on my 2000 Gs400 w/ 17" stock rims. They said to take it to the dealer.

What will it cost me at Lexus service center?

try Town Fair Tire also. They are in New York and New England.
I bought a set of 18" wheels from them. They did an alignment, it was very true on.
I had the car at Lexus to replace a strut and they did another alignment after the r&r. I then took it back to TFT to have it done again cause TFT's alighment was much better than what the dealer did.
But, each alignment is only as good as the tech and equipment doing it.

TFT's alignment was $69.95 for four wheel.

I am surprised at Midas. Here in Mexico, we have no Lexus to speak of, just Toyota. I use Toyota and Midas interchangeably. However, Midas was able to point out a problem with the camber bolt on the right side, something Toyota did not even see when I took it into them later, but Lexus in the states spotted it also immediately. An alignment, balancing and rotation at Midas cost me about $28 US and at Toyota about $32 US, and they had my Lexus in their alignment computers.

Ripe911, it's depend on the dealer and I think it should be between 1.2- 2.0 hrs labor( around $90.00-$ 180.00). I can't see why Midas and Mineke refuse to do alignment on your car unless they see some thing wrong and they don't want to mess with it.

Both place didn't even look at the car. They just asked me what car I had and that was it. They said take it to the dealer. I am going to go try Pep Boys.
