What was the issue with the engine? Did you receive a diagnosis on the engine?

 

when I ran Techserv it called out thermal and camshaft sensors which made sense because the first clue was hearing psst as I pulled in to a gravel parking lot. When I restarted it hours later it had engine check light, Vsc on & Vsc off, I tried to make it home and many more lights came on in 15 minutes , half way home, more lights came on, I pulled over, had it towed home. Never started again. Mechanic said radiator cap was melted and cam shaft was only turning half the engine, he said it was toast and charged me less than $100 bucks, maybe I should have brought it to Lexus or Toyota, but that would have been $200-400 minimum I'd think for possibly same diagnosis, but maybe not. 🤷‍♂️

 

It should also be noted that I rebuilt all of the speakers with new foam and they sound great, also I have installed an Alexa auto with an auxiliary input into the original Mark Levinson sound system which provides Bluetooth linkage to your phone, hands free operation & great things like "Alexa play jam band radio" or "Alexa call my daughter" or even "Siri use Waze to take me home" and about any other Siri or Alexa command you want. I have used silicon lube on the hardtop roof mechanism as per the service manual and I can even give you my copy of the digital service manual. The car has one small ding on the left rear panel and a cracked side lamp which you can see covered with black duct tape, but I have a set of all 4 side led lights I bought to install which I will throw in too

 

If this was in Ga I would make a deal with you. Sorry this happen to you. If the rest of the car is straight, that's not such a bad deal on it. I hope someone puts it back together and shows it some love.

sorry Mark, I needed to get this towed from my mechanics before I left town, so I sold it (for what I thought was a steal for him) to another former 2003 sc430 owner who was ready for another, a good home 🙏!
