For those that DON'T know....this is the top-of-the-line Eclipse CD/receiver unit. There is nothing higher. This retails for much more than the asking price here. I KNOW.

I believe the 8443 is the highest model not the 8053. Eclipse 8443 can be bought at around $400 on ebay all day long brand new.

That is incorrect sir.

The 8443 is 1 step down from the 8053. They are very similar except for a couple of features: The 8053 has 16V balanced outputs, the 8443 has 8V non-balanced outputs. The 8053 has 0 power by itself, the 8443 has 50W x 4. Those are the only 2 differences. Otherwise, both units look identical. The 8053 is called by eclipse it's top-of-the-line model because of the 16V balanced outputs which make for a cleaner source melodically.

Retail price for the 8053 is in the $550+ range. What they can be had for on ebay? I don't know.

Great Price....

I waited 3 months and got mine for $550 however, to run 16V need to purchase Balanced Line Adapter ($100).

I love the features on this HU.

Exactly, but it is capabable of the 16V's which not many HU's can. Another good point about Eclipse is their warranty. There is no other company that I have seen that has such a comprehensive warranty. I mean, if you get your HU stolen they will replace it for free!!! Come on. ESN safety which means if power is cut, you can only re-power it with a "designated" CD of your choice. Come on. 3 yr parts and labor.

It's a nice unit any way you slice it.
