Default Custom Sub Box for 2 12's : 2nd Gen GS

Sup guys, well I have decided to do one more subwoofer and re-do my enclosure with fiberglass for a more flashy and custom design.

I had this box made especially for the second gen GS, it fits and stays on the back ledge perfectly, still allows you to get to the spare tire, and has LED's inside for a custom blue backlighting.

This box is 7/8" MDF, built very strong with a Plexiglass window in front. I chose to create a Vinyl cover for the box and amp rack, but you could leave the box exposed plexiglass, it looks very classy.

This box costed me 600 because it is notched and angled to sit, and stay set on the ledge in the back. It fits absolutely perfectly.

I want go get something like 300 for this box.

I am selling the Vinyl cover as well with it. If you are interested in the entire system, please pm me.

Darn, I will do that, but silly me I forgot to snap pics of it before i took it apart to remove my subs...

This box was done right with thick mdf and the sub is bolted to the plexiglass with lock nuts to prevent backing off. Basically this thing was done top notch.

It's not the sub that hangs lower, but the actual viny cover that isnt fully attached, so it covers the top portion of the trim ring of the woofer, making it look like it's a lil lower.

Snapped some pics of the box in my gameroom taken apart. The box is actually sitting upside down in the pictures so it would lay flat on my floor, so just imagine it around the other way and that overhang going right over the edge of the ledge in the GS's trunk.

And now for the pics:

Also, sorry for it being a lil dirty, been handling the plexi with my hands so its a lil oily from my handprints.

No damage, no nothing, perfect and when cleaned looks crystal clear.

Ah also, thanks TLW for trying to help with the pics, forgot the figgin bracket after the img tag on those others.

How did the box sit in your trunk was it bolted or screwed down?

Actually neither, the weight of the box, and the weight of the subs plus the box's dimensions and that lip held the box in place with zero moving, but if would be extremely easy just to run a wood strip over to a shock tower.

Why is the front of the box made of plexiglass if theres a vinyl panel covering it? Isnt this the box you bought from Airtrakk?

Correct, this box is a copy of airtracks. In shipment, UPS dropped Airtrack's original box and it made huge cracks as the box was made of unreliable fiberboard instead of MDF. When UPS stepped up to replace it, I had the box basically copied onto MDF and actually made better than it was.

What my thought is was that airtrack first went with this box and no amp rack in front of it. I bet he stuck a smaller amp somewhere. After he wanted to upgrade i bet he decided to mount the amps on a custom plate in front like mine our now, and to cover the entire trunk in vinyl.

That's a pure guess though. You can use the box either way, if you want to keep most of your trunk you could mount the amps on the side of the box or somewhere but if you wanted to do a show set up you could mount them like mine our now.
