I have a Eclipse AVX 2404 Double Din Head Unit.

It has the following features:
- AM/FM
- CD/MP3 Audio
- VCD/DVD Video
- Equalizer
- 5.1 Dobly DTS Surround Sound (ONLY 5.1 SURROUND SOUND DOUBLE DIN AVAILABLE FROM ECLIPSE)
- Touch Screen
- Preamp for Front, Rear, Subwoofer, and Center Channels


It also has optional features which are not included:
- Remote
- 8 Disc CD Changer OR Ipod Adapter
- Reverse Camera
- Does NOT SUPPORT SATELLITE RADIO!

One more thing, It does have Navi Input in the back, but from what I was told from Circuit City, Authorized Eclipse Dealer, this unit DOES NOT support Nav.

can it play avi. files on dvds? or does it only recognize formatted dvds?

Inorder to play AVI or MPEG, typically downloaded music videos, you will need to compile those files into a DVD Video Disc.

If you plan to purchase this HU, I can backup two of my most reliable DVD Video Burning programs.

From my experience, I can fit at about 60-70 tracks on one DVD.

It sounds very appealing, but the nav is iffy, does it composite video inputs (red/white/yellow)?

I believe it has Video INPUT ONLY. If you need Audio, You will need to go with FM Modulator or AUX-IN via CD Changer Port.

I do have an AUX-IN Cable which I have never got around to use. I will include it in the purchase price. Give me some time for me to look for it. I hope I still got it in my garage.
