i had the Avic D3 back in 2005. Its very very outdated IMHO. The navigation on this unit is awesome. The bluetooth is very clear and is why i stick with Pioneer over the Alpine. And the integration with ipod/iphone is killer! I have the AVIC free app on my iphone and its just really cool and the ease of use is a big plus for me. The graphics are like a LCD tv rather than an older tv like the avic-d3.

I have this same unit in my Truck. I bought the second one for my STI but just sold that car.

Check out the pioneer site....it will explain everything so much more than i can.

in order to install any double din or single din CD player in a GS. You need to mount the unit. The brackets are made for the 98-05 GS and allow you to bolt in the double din unit and the jdm faceplate attaches to it. So in the end you will have the double din player flush mounted and the faceplate matches the A/C unit so it looks factory because it is an OEM toyota intall kit!

brackets and faceplate look like this....(you can buy this kit at the link i provided above from Carson Toyota for under $60)
